Setting up and licensing the land has not come for free; there are very real costs involved and unfortunately we have to find a way of paying them, please see our set-up costs below:

We need £907 just to get things started;

• £500 Land licence
• £ 82 Insurance
• £ 25 IMBA affiliation
• £100 Membership admin*
• £200 Signs

Total £907/ Yr (Minimum)

* Obligatory membership cards (as stipulated by the Longleat estate).

These costs are simply to set-up and get going, before anything else.

To pay for this we all agreed that we would implement a membership fee; after all it seems only fair that we should pay for what we are benefiting from. So we spread the word and tried to establish who else wanted to join and came up with the figure of 34. We then assumed that half would be interested in taking an active role in the club and half wouldn’t and so created two membership options.

• Full Membership £35
• Half Membership £23

This estimation gives (17 x 35) + (17 x 23) = £986

In addition to membership fees we have also sought donations from local businesses but simply cannot rely upon these to fund our activities hence the choice to place a small annual fee upon becoming a member. Remember as our membership numbers rise the membership fees will go down.
