Night Ride Cancelled
Tuesday 22/12/09 Night Ride is cancelled.
After boasting “whatever the weather” in my last post, we won’t be running tomorrow’s night ride because of the severe weather warning issued by the met office, and the fact that we can’t guarantee that we will be able to get there to run the ride ourselves.
We will try to hold a Night Ride before Christmas, so please check back here / on the forum if you’re interested.

Whatever the weather
Despite some pretty chilly conditions and rock hard ground 13 people made it out to build today!
We managed to build 2 new drops on ‘Punch’ the tech line on ‘Puppets’, and add an awesome little kink that makes the section even better than ever before.
Not long now until TickerTape, so we may hold a short trail prep day to get the tracks running sweetly for the big event. We’ll keep you posted…
(Ian will post a blog entry about the XC effort, including pics, very soon…)

Shop Delivery Charge – Now Sorted
For the first couple of hours our Paypal powered shop was making people pay a delivery charge for each item, this is obviously not what we’d intended. Fear not though; you can now add delivery as a single £3 fee for the whole order.
If you’d like the items delivered please add this on, collection won’t be available before Christmas I’m afraid, but I will be able to deliver (just add 1 x delivery charge, this all goes to the club).
Cheers

The first batch of 42 T-shirts will arrive on Tuesday 22nd, and 50 Calendars on Wednesday 23rd, so get your orders in now if you’d like them delivered on the 24th, everything else is in stock now.
Remembers that all proceeds will go towards our trail building projects so go on; spend spend spend!

Christmas log
It’s beautiful here, and despite the snowy conditions the ground is soft enough to dig!

Dig Day is Go!
Today’s Dig Day is going ahead as planned. We’ll play it by ear, changing the scope of work depending upon ground conditions and may even finish early if the temperature doesn’t improve. Please wrap up warm but wear layers as you’ll soon get hot when you start working.
See you there!

Dig Day Weather
The Met office have issued an advisory warning for Sunday’s weather:
“There is a moderate risk of severe weather affecting parts of the south of the UK on Sunday morning. There is a risk of widespread ice on untreated surfaces following a band of rain, sleet and snow which is expected to clear south overnight.”
With this in mind we’d like to ask that everyone checks the front page of this website on Sunday morning to see if the Dig Day is still going ahead. It is currently, but this may have to change.
The ground is likely to be very hard so could people please bring rakes so that we can clear all of the trails ready for the next TickerTape, and help with the XC project.
Also, please remember to wear breathable layers, warm socks and a hat – that’s right, for the duration of this post I’m behaving like your mum.
Fingers crossed the weather is better than expected.
